There are many different career opportunities within Wales Probation Trust whether you wish to work within Offender Management, Community Payback, finance, administration or HR.
If you are successful in obtaining a role with us, you will receive a full induction to the work of the National Offender Management Service and to Wales Probation Trust in particular and you will be supported in your professional development in line with our business priorities.
If you are interested in working within Offender Management, your development as a Probation Service Officer, possibly with a view to becoming a Probation Officer, will be supported through the national Probation Qualification Framework. As a Probation Service Officer, you will need to complete a core skills training programme and VQ3 assessment of competence within 12 months of appointment. The pathway to becoming a Probation Officer can take up to 3 years and requires you to complete either an Honours Degree in Community Justice or a Graduate Diploma in Community Justice as well as a VQ Diploma in Probation Proactive (level 5). We work in close partnership with City and Guilds and Portsmouth University to achieve this.
A detailed brochure detailing Careers in Probation will be available shortly and all job vacancies to which we are recruiting externally will be advertised on this website.
For details of any current vacancies please see the jobs section located to the bottom right of the screen.
